The bamboo whisk is what gives matcha its smooth texture and signature froth. Each whisk is carefully hand-carved from a single piece of aged bamboo, making it both delicate and functional.
How to care for it:
- Submerge the bottom half of the bristles in warm water for 1-2 minutes before each use.
- To clean, whisk in a bowl of warm water immediately after use. Never use soap.
- Let it air dry completely after use, preferably on a chasen stand to maintain its shape and dry downwards. Never pack it in an airtight environment until fully dry.
- Never use it to whisk other liquids such as milks or syrups.
- Store in a cool, moderately dry place away from humidity.
Refrain from scraping the whisk too aggressively against the bowl when whisking, in order to prevent the tips of the whisk from breaking.
